On the line of weak to strong, I placed Eric somewhere in the middle. I think Eric is a strong enough character to show a little backbone when he needs to. However, at the beginning of the book he was very weak. He constantly needed Sarah Byrnes just to survive school. But a lot has changed since that time and Eric has begun to take charge of his life and assist Sarah Byrnes in her crisis. As the book goes on, I believe Eric will be an even stronger character than he is now and may become not as tough, but close to as tough as Sarah Byrnes.
On the other hand we have Sarah Byrnes. I put Sarah very high on the scale, because of her overall hard shell. However, as the book goes on, I think she'll become weaker. Sarah Byrnes has a serious issue and I think the struggle may cause her to become weaker. This is only a theory, but I do believe she may break. But who knows...maybe she'll be even stronger than before.
