Eric the Afraid; Eric the Affectionate

I completely disaprove of the main character, Eric Calhoune. To me, he is a shy wimp that is afraid of everything. He can't look a bully in the eye, he sweats (buckets) whenever he is nervous, and he never stands his ground. However, I do think that he has his heart in the right place. When he became an athlete and slimmed up, he didn't leave her behind, that actually showed some courage, whereas he could have just abandoned her. Also, I think that it will be okay, because it sounds like Sarah Byrnes will make up for lack of personality. For his characteristics, actions, flaws, and strengths, I renickname him Eric the Afraid, but also Eric the Affectionate.
