This topic is... kind of confusing. Mainly because it kind of hits 3/4 of the conflicts. Man vs. Man, Man vs. Self, and Man vs. Society. I think that the main one, however, is Man vs. Society.
Man vs. Society is the strongest is because the two most important characters, Sarah Byrnes and Eric, have traits that society disgrace. Eric is fat, which society looks down on. Society views being fat as a bad trait, making you less important and more of an outcast. Sarah is scarred and ugly, which society just hates. Society makes it seem like if you're not a fashion model or skinny or the picture of sophisticated grace, you're less important or even an outcast to everyone around her. Eric and Sarah have to deal with the names, insults, and disgraces of their physical features and how society deems them.
