What Impression Of Your Main Character Do You Have So Far?

Eric Calhoune's actions teach the reader, that he is a self doubter and he doesn't believe in himself. In the book Eric calls himself fat, and does not think he can pursue far in swimming. In the book Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes, the author states, "I said one morning a couple of years ago, Dad's picture clutched tight in my beefy paws." This shows Eric calls himself fat, and later when swimming, he believes he can't go far in swimming because he calls himself fat. I've learned Eric Calhoune is a caring guy. Everyday he goes to the hospital to visit Sarah Byrnes, and tries to communicate with her. She doesn't talk to him, and looks out the window. Eric Calhoune knowing she won't talk, still visits Sarah Byrnes and checks to make sure everything is okay. I think Eric Calhoune is a good character in my book. He is a good character because he never gives up on Sarah. He is always there for her, and never lets her down. He backs her up when she gets bullied, and helps her through her struggles. When Sarah Brynes would star out the window, he would try to make her laugh and cheer her up. Over all I think Eric Calhoune is a good character in the book, and I can't wait to continue reading.
