The Many Conflicts of Two Outcasts

In the book, Sarah Byrnes sits in a hospital silent and won't say a word. I think that her conflict is man versus self. It seems she is trying to escape from reality and hide from something that happened. I think it may have something to do with her dad or her family, and that she is hiding something serious.

As for the conflict of the book, it seems Eric has a bit of man versus society type of conflict. His enemies consist of mainly Mautz, and Dale Thornton. Possibly some other kids at school being bullies? The story hasn't touched upon many of the other kids that go to their school. At least not yet anyway.

So in conclusion, "Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes" has many conflicts, so here are the main ones I found.
