Today we had our very first discussion. I thought out 15 questions beforehand, and we didn't even have time to answer them all. These are all of the questions that I asked and the answers to them:
Q: Is the world a good place or a bad place?
A: It depends who you are.
Q: If you were Sarah Byrnes, how would you face people at school?
A: Just go with the flow. Why does it even matter what other people think of you?
Q: If you were Eric, would you leave Sarah Byrnes behind, or stay with her?
A: Stay with her because a meaningful relationship is worth more than 100 lame ones.
Q: Do you think that it is right for them to write "Crispy Pork Rinds"?
A: Yes because people are mean to them every day, and if they are in the articles, they deserve it.
Q: If you were persecuted by Dale, would you give him your money or take the beating?
A: Take the beating because otherwise he gets what he wants.
Q: On a scale of 1-10, how important are looks?
A: 2, 4, and 7
Q: Any inferences?
A: Not yet.
Q: Do you think that there is actually something wrong with Sarah Byrnes, or is she faking it?
A: Definitely faking.
Q: Where was Sarah Byrnes's mother when she was injured?
A: No idea.
Those are all the questions we went through.
I do agree that the world can be a good or bad place depending on who you are. For Sarah Byrnes, the world is bad because everyone always makes fun of her burns and scars. For Eric the world is bad but also good, too. Eric has a lot of swim friends and he has made a lot of new ones. Since he has made a lot of new friends the world is good to him. The world can also be bad to Eric because he has a best friend that is in the hospital and is burned. Many people make fun of him for having a friend who has been burned severely. The world can be bad or good depending on who you are.
