My Books Main Conflict
Eric Calhoune's conflict in "Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes" is his best friend Sarah Byrnes is in the hospital. The conflict is man vs. man because having a best friend in the hospital causes people to pick on Eric. When Eric goes to visit Sarah Byrnes in the hospital, she never talks to him. She sits on the coach and stars out the window, and will not talk to anyone that comes into the room. When Sarah Byrnes dad came to visit her, it made the conflict even more complicated. When Sarah's dad entered the room, Sarah became frightened. As he was talking to Sarah Byrnes, Eric walked in and was listening. When Sarah's dad walked out he said, " if you hear her say anything, tell me." Her dad made the conflict on why Sarah doesn't talk even more complicated. I do not think the characters will solve the problem without harm. I think once her dad finds out she talks to Eric at school, he will make the conflict even more complicated.

I respectfully disagree. I think that it would be man vs. society because Eric and Sara are dealing with people around them bullying them for their looks.

ReplyDeleteI have to say I agree with both Mia and Olivia. I think in some places of the book it is man vs man and in some places man vs society.
ReplyDeleteI believe that there were three conflicts. Man vs. Man, Man vs. society, and Man vs. Self.
