What would I say

If I got the chance to talk to my main character I would ask why he didn't tell child protection services or the cops about what Sarah Byrnes' dad did to her. I know she told him not to tell anyone, but it would be for her own good. First of all she wouldn't have to deal with her dad anymore. Second of all she would be protected so she wouldn't have to worry about her dad's threat.
A second thing I would ask is why are intrested in Jody Mueller. I mean she had an abortion! Obviously this means she might not be the best GF.

  1. Fair point. However, the only evidence is Sarah Byrnes's face and the fact that her dad threatens her. Threats aren't really used that much as evidence, and Sarah Byrnes was burned when she was 3. That information, although a scarring and horrific memory that would stick with her, might not seem reliable since she was only 3, and is almost 18 now. And of course, Virgil wouldn't incriminate himself. As for Judy and the abortion, as much as I am pro-life, I think it's slightly justified in this case. She slipped up and got herself pregnant, and she didn't want to have the abortion, but Mark Brittain made her. She isn't a terrible person because she was forced to have an abortion.

  3. Eric couldn't just tell child services cause all he knew was she was burned by accident and that her dad threatens her.

  4. I agree with what Emmaleigh said. There is no solid proof as to what happened to Sarah Byrnes. Also, Sarah makes it very clear that Virgil doesn't care about what happens to him if she tells, she should be worried about herself.
